Managing Partner Larry Davis was quoted on December 1, 2017 in the Washington Business Journal article, “Contract to Wed: Region Marks Defining Deal Flow.” M&A deal flow is driven across industries by many of the same factors and the quest to be “disruptive.” Although M&A in the Washington Metro Region is down mid-November 2017 compared with 2016, deal making did not appear to blink in the face of political and economic uncertainty.
Larry provides his opinion on why M&A transaction volume may be down this year. He believes “It’s a pretty good time to take a company to market, from a seller’s perspective. The market is pretty strong right now and I think the biggest reason M&A transaction volume is down is because there are less actionable targets. The will of the buyer universe is still out there. Buyers are still looking for transactions, they’re just being much more selective and disciplined.”
